The Cost of Not Forgiving
The cost of not forgiving
Is one spoonful of resenting
Just one.. no more and no less
But you take one spoonful
For each person that you detest
It’s just one spoonful though
It’s really not that much
But there are some hidden additives
That we really should discuss
With resentment comes fear
And fear hardens the heart
It still beats just fine
But it struggles with the loving part
With resentment comes anxiety
You won’t ever feel totally at ease
You can still have a lot of fun
But the quiet will steal your peace
With resentment comes anger
You’ll probably get offended often
Just avoid all of those who disagree with you
And you shouldn’t have a problem
With resentment comes negativity
And that shit will give you cancer
But they have great medicine now
So your doctor will have an answer
With resentment comes judgement
And judgement honestly feels great
It makes you believe that you know better
But your friends might need some space
If these side effects work for you
Then darling open wide
Resentment tastes like candy
But it does rot your insides
If you’ve been swallowing resentment
For a long time now
One heavy dose of forgiveness
Will cure you from the inside out
